While 2015 brought significant changes to the law on third party interventions in England and Wales, in the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015, the capacity of public interest organisations and others to assist the court in legally difficult and constitutionally significant cases remains crucially important.

In this new guide, JUSTICE and Freshfields explore what it means to be a responsible intervener in the domestic courts in England and Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland and before the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice in the European Union.
