Three new silks for Brick Court

23/12/22

Brick Court Chambers is delighted to announce that Richard Eschwege, Craig Morrison and Daniel Piccinin have been appointed King’s Counsel in the 2022 competition.

Richard Eschwege (call 2008) is a leading junior in heavyweight litigation and arbitration, and has been involved in some of the most high profile, high value and significant cases of recent years. He has a broad, predominantly commercial, practice, and has advised on and acted in a spectrum of disputes, notably in the fields of energy and natural resources, banking and financial services, civil fraud, insurance, professional negligence, telecommunications, conflicts of interest, conflicts of laws, and jurisdiction battles. He has appeared in the national courts at all levels and before many international arbitral tribunals.

Craig Morrison (call 2008) practises in all areas of commercial litigation and arbitration. He has acted for the successful parties in some of the most high-profile commercial disputes of the last decade, including the Ingenious litigation, Libyan Investment Authority v Societe Generale and UBS v KWL. He has also acted unled in several substantial High Court trials and arbitration hearings, and has significant experience cross-examining both factual and expert witnesses. In 2020 he was nominated as Banking Law Junior of the Year by Chambers & Partners and as Commercial Litigation Junior of the Year by the Legal 500. He earlier appeared as one of Legal Week’s “Stars at the Bar” in 2016.

Daniel Piccinin (call 2010) specialises in litigation that raises complex economic, financial and commercial issues – in particular competition law. Since leaving his competition practice at Linklaters in 2010, Daniel has appeared, both led and unled, in a number of landmark competition cases. He acts for Visa defending the interchange fee claims brought by numerous retailers, Servier in the NHS’s long-running claim for damages for conduct involving pharmaceutical patents, Barclays in the forex cartel, Volvo in Trucks, LG Display in several cases arising from the LCD cartel, and Apple in the App Store litigation. In 2016 he won the Chambers & Partners Competition Law Junior of the Year award and was named as a 2017 Star at the Bar in Legal Week.
