Three new silks for Brick Court

Brick Court Chambers is delighted to announce that Sarah Lee, Thomas Plewman and Maya Lester have been appointed Queen’s Counsel in the 2015-16 competition .  The conferring of silk status will be made at a ceremony at the Palace of Westminster on the 22nd February 2016.

Sarah Lee’s practice is in European law covering a wide spectrum of areas, including regulatory and competition law. Recent cases include several telecommunications appeals in the Competition Appeal Tribunal and one telecommunications case in the Supreme Court, together with appearances in the Luxembourg courts in relation to sanctions, the working time directive, state aid and medicines.

Thomas Plewman specialises in commercial litigation, arbitration, civil  fraud  and  professional  negligence.  He moved to the United Kingdom and established a practice in London in 2010 after practising in South Africa (and having been appointed to silk there in 2008).

Maya Lester has a wide-ranging public law, EU and competition practice. She has particular expertise in economic sanctions, and co-writes the blog www.europeansanctions.co.uk  Her cases include the Chagos Islanders litigation, Kadi, and acting for Shambo the temple bullock.
