Brick Court Chambers are very pleased to welcome Simon Thorley QC as a door tenant commencing 1st August 2014. Simon Thorley is one of the leading Silks at the Bar. His move comes about as he is ceasing practice as an advocate and wishes to further his career as an Arbitrator in Intellectual Property and other technical disputes.

Simon Thorley QC comments: “After a tremendous time practicing at and leading Chambers at 3 New Square I have joined Brick Court Chambers to focus on Arbitration. Brick Court is the natural place to do so.”

Jonathan Hirst QC (Joint Head of Chambers at Brick Court Chambers) comments: “We are delighted to welcome such a renowned and respected silk to Brick Court Chambers. We have seen an increase in IP litigation, and noted that clients are electing to arbitrate, due to the international nature of the disputes that tend to arise in this field.  Judge Fidelma Macken SC and Nicholas Saunders have been recent additions to chambers IP offering and Simon Thorley’s arrival reflects our growing strength in this field. Alongside our very strong list of International Arbitrators including Lords Phillips, Hoffmann and Hope, Hilary Heilbron QC and Klaus Reichert SC, Simon Thorley QC will enhance our offering to clients.”
