Iran Nuclear Deal: One Year On

A year on from the Iran nuclear deal agreement, decade-old sanctions have been lifted creating the promise of new opportunities for businesses and financiers operating in the country. However, in Iran, there has been growing dissatisfaction that the promised economic benefits of the deal are not being realized. Moreover, the deal presents many legal and political implications that will have an impact on Iranian domestic policy and on the wider Middle East and beyond.

With the US election in November, a post-Brexit EU and presidential elections in Iran next year, the debate around the deal is playing out in front of an uncertain global political backdrop. The panel will discuss whether the deal is working in Iran, in regards to improving the living standard for the general population and encouraging businesses to invest in the country. It will then analyze if the deal is meeting the goals of the other signatory countries, before looking at how the agreement is being adhered to on both sides.
